Santa Claus is coming to town!

Oh! You better watch out, You better not cry, You better not pout, I'm telling you why: Santa Claus is coming to town! He's making a list, Checking it twice, Gonna find out who's naughty or nice. Santa Claus is coming to town! He sees you when you're sleeping, He knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good, So be good for goodness sake! Oh! You better watch out, You better not cry, You better not pout, I'm telling you why: Santa Claus is coming to town!

Reach for your Star

"Reach for your Star" Do not take anything as being forever, because forever is only as long as today. Know that the people who are the richest are not those who have the most, but those who need the least. That we are at our strongest when life is at its worst, and at our weakest when life no longer offers a challenge. That it is wiser not to expect, but to hope, for in expecting you ask for disappointment, whereas in hoping, you invite surprise. That unhappiness doesn't come from not having something you want, but from the lack of something inside that you need. That there are things to hold and things to let go, and letting go doesn't mean you lose, but that you acquire that which has been waiting around the corner. Most of all... remember to use your dreams as a way of knowing yourself better, and as an inspiration to reach for your star. --Nancye Sims

Hot/Cold hell

The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well. Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different Religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religi...

TAKING RISKS

To laugh... is to risk appearing the fool. To weep... is to risk appearing sentinmental. To reach out for another... is to risk involvement. To expose feelings... is to risk exposing our true self. To place your ideas and dreams before the crowd... is to risk loss. To love... is to risk not being loved in return. To live... is to risk dying. To hope... is to risk despair. To try at all... is to risk failure. But, to risk, wemust, because the greatest hazard in life... is to risk nothing. --Unknown

Think, Believe, Dream, And Dare

An eight-year-old boy approached an old man in front of a wishing well, looked up into his eyes, and asked: "I understand you're a very wise man. I'd like to know the secret of life." The old man looked down at the youngster and replied: "I've thought a lot in my lifetime, and the secret can be summed up in four words The first is think. Think about the values you wish to live your life by. The second is believe. Believe in yourself based on the thinking you've done about the values you're going to live your life by. The third is dream. Dream about the things that can be, based on your belief in yourself and the values you're going to live by. The last is dare. Dare to make your dreams become reality, based on your belief in yourself and your values. " And with that, Walter E. Disney said to the little boy, "Think, Believe, Dream, and Dare."

An Admirable Man

If a man is honest with others and with himself If he receives gratefully and gives quietly If he is gentle enough to feel and strong enough to show his feelings If he is slow to see the faults of others but quick to discover their goodness If he is cheerful in difficult times and modest in success If he does his best to be true to his beliefs Then he is truly an admirable man

Signs vs Science

"Let me explain the problem science has with Jesus Christ." The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand. "You're a Christian, aren't you, son?" "Yes sir," the student says. "So you believe in God?" "Absolutely." "Is God good?" "Sure! God's good." "Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?" "Yes.""Are you good or evil?" "The Bible says I'm evil." The professor grins knowingly. "Aha! The Bible!" He considers for a moment."Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here andyou can cure him. You can do it. Would you help them? Would you try?" "Yes sir, I would." "So you're good ... !" "I wouldn't say that." "But why not say that? You'd help a sick and maimed person if you could. Most of us would if ...

There are many correct ways to answer a test question

R.L. Loeffelbein A physics teacher at Washington University in St. Louis was about to give a student a zero for the student's answer to an examination problem. The student claimed he should receive a perfect score, if the system were not so set up against the student. Instructor and student agreed to submit to an impartial arbiter, Dr. Alexander Calandra, who tells the story. The examination problem was: "Show how it is possible to determine the height of a tall building with the aid of a barometer." The student's answer was, "Take the barometer to the top of the building, attach a long rope to it, and lower the barometer to the ground. Then, bring it back up, measuring the length of the rope and barometer. The lengths of the two together is the height of the building." I, as arbiter, pointed out that the student really had a strong case for full credit since he had answered the problem completely and correctly. On the other hand, of course, full cr...

Sir John Templeton's 16 Rules for Investment Success

Regarded as a pioneer of global investments in the 1950s, Sir John Templeton's sixteen rules for success still form part of the philosophy employed by gurus like Mark Mobius and Murdoch Murchison. As his name suggests, Templeton founded the Templeton Group while Mark Mobius is managing director of Templeton Emerging Markets Fund. Murchison is best known for his work as banking and mining analyst for the Templeton Funds Group. Sir John Templeton's sixteen rules for investment success: 1. If you begin with a prayer, you can think more clearly and make fewer mistakes. 2. Outperforming the market is a difficult task. The challenge is not simply making better investment decisions than the average investor. The real challenge is making investment decisions that are better than those of the professionals who manage the big institutions. 3. Invest don't trade or speculate. The stock market is not a casino, but if you move in and out of stocks every time they move a point...

Did ABAP Objects fail as a whole?

Did ABAP Objects fail as a whole? Horst Keller, SAP 29 Jul 2004 In a recent SDN weblog, Klaus Meffert discussed the pros and cons of object-oriented software development. In my weblog, I will not discuss the author's general opinion about the object-oriented programming model. There are benefits and drawbacks to any programming model, and these can be discussed by anyone. In my opinion, each developer or development team has their own way of thinking and should be free to choose the programming model that most suits their needs (and as I will show below, there are reasons why one should give ABAP Objects a closer look). However, in the above weblog, I found the following disconcerting statement, which I want to discuss here: "ABAP/Objects is a nice try to lift up ABAP to a more sophisticated technology. This failed as a whole." At first glance this reads like "Forget ABAP Objects! The guys in Walldorf were not able to create an object-oriented langu...

Just walk

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.                                                                             The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:                  TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.                    ...

My Way

And now, the end is near And so I face my final curtain My friend, I'll say it clear I'll state my case, of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I've travelled each and every highway But more, much more than this, I did it my way.

Best Time of My Life

"Best Time of My Life" It was June 15, and in two days I would be turning thirty. I was insecure about entering a new decade of my life and feared that my best years were now behind me. My daily routine included going to the gym for a workout before going to work. Every morning I would see my friend Nicholas at the gym. He was seventy-nine years old and in terrific shape. As I greeted Nicholas on this particular day, he noticed I wasn't full of my usual vitality and asked if there was anything wrong. I told him I was feeling anxious about turning thirty. I wondered how I would look back on my life once I reached Nicholas's age, so I asked him, "What was the best time of your life?" Without hesitation, Nicholas replied, "Well, Joe, this is my philosophical answer to your philosophical question: "When I was a child in Austria and everything was taken care of for me and I was nurtured by my parents, that was the best time of my life....

Prerequisites for Developing Staff

Prerequisites for Developing Staff By Robert Bogue If you were to define critical success factors for any organization such as, the issues that will ultimately lead to the success or failure ofthe organization, developing your staff will undoubtedly make the list.Whether you are a manufacturer or a consultant who is providing similar products and services for the last 20 years, at the core of your organization is the people. An organization's growth is dependent upon how your people work, grow, and challenge your thinking. It can be difficult to find good people with the proper focus on their positions. They must be developed, or more accurately, supported into the kind of people who will fuel the organization's progress towardsbigger and better things. Simply acknowledging the fact that your employees are critical to yoursuccess won't magically make them better employees. In fact, even telling them that they're a critical success factor for your organization ...

It's Easy to Earn Money

It's Easy to Earn Money By Bob Proctor There is a very real possibility that everything you and I have been taught about how to earn money is so far from the truth that it's almost comical. Earning money has nothing to do with age, formal education, gender or geography. It has nothing to do with past experience or your formal years of education or your level of intellect. Check it out ... there are individuals who are functionally illiterate who have become multi-millionaires, while there are others who are absolutely brilliant and they are broke.   Virtually anyone can be taught how to earn millions of dollars and yet the sad truth is that 97 out of every 100 people are born, live their entire lives, and die without ever learning how to earn money. To perpetuate this ridiculous problem, their ignorance is passed along from one generation to the next. Our school system has been designed as an environment to enlighten young minds, to replace ignorance with unders...

Rhyme Time

The weather is hotter than hell, but to me it's just swell. Accept that disapointment never cease, be a wise man and set your mind at ease. Desire will create expectation, that will then invite distraction. No point get yourself pissed,  better enjoy life before rest in peace.

Never had a dream come true

Everybody's got somethin' They had to leave behind One regret from yesterday That just seems to grow with time There's no use lookin' back or wonderin' How it could be now or might have been Oh this I know but still I can't find ways To let you go Chorus: I never had a dream come true Till the day that I found you Even though I pretend that I've moved on You'll always be my baby I never found the words to say You're the one I think about each day And I know no matter Where life takes me to A part of me will always be with you, ooooh yea Somewhere in my memory I've lost all sense of time And tomorrow can never be 'Cuz yesterday is all that fills my mind There's no use lookin' back or wonderin' How it should be now or might have been Oh this I know but still I can't find ways to let you go Repeat Chorus You'll always be the dream That fills my head, Yes you will, say y...
